AXA 2238 LLC is based in Oregon, USA, and controls the Worldwide Rights to Romero's character and universe of AXA.

AXA was first published in 1978 in the UK-based news tabloid The Sun.

During the last 30 years, AXA has been published in more than 20 countries, read by millions of fans. Romero has - so far - created 2,238 black/white strips, one complete black/white episode for Swedish audience only and three color episodes; two of them published in the US comic magazine AXA, printed by Eclipse in 1987.

During 2009, the AXA Mobile Phone Game is released, based on Romero's "The Beginning" and a few other episodes he originally created in the early 1980's.
